"November Syndrome, or Homo Compatiens" is a novel that impresses with its depth. It's worth mentioning that Homo Compatiens is a person capable to demonstrate hyper-empathy. This is exactly the protagonist of the philosophical novel, Konstantin Nechay, an ordinary Ukrainian from an ordinary family. However, this person is distinguished by an amazing ability to perceive so deeply feelings and emotions of other people, that a person morphs into total empathy. This ability can be taken as a pathology, but can be - as the greatest gift that brings even more life to our lives. The hero sympathizes even with people he has never seen ... The events in the story take place during a number of revolutions around the world, including the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity in 2014. The Maidan is the climax moment not only of the events described, but also of the life of the protagonist, who must apply his gift in some way ... Konstantin Nechay's hyper-empathy, which contradicts his own self, gives the work mysticism, and makes the reader think about his own priorities.
